Who do you guys like the most that review clubs on YouTube?

We have a new hybrid (full set 1-SW - 12 clubs available - both RH and LH) coming out that has performed amazing in real world testing and we want to get it out there for some exposure. They are super game improvement, so a stud player probably wouldn't have it in their bag. So we are looking for a popular "hacker" reviewer out there.

ValueGolf Aaron do YouTube video's sell golf clubs? How do club purchasers decide how/what to buy? If going to a big box discount golf store my experience is that purchasers buy more off impulse than any other reason.

The Let’s Play Thru guy seems to like testing DTC/Component clubs. Most of the other reviewers I know of are big company reviewers only.

Taki27 The Let’s Play Thru guy seems to like testing DTC/Component clubs

He does a lot of club reviews, but he’s a 4 handicap. That said he just reviewed Tour Edge’s latest Hot Launch C524 fairway woods and gave them a good review (below). He recently loved the TE C524 driver as well. He tests the clubs out on the course in real life conditions which is a positive.

Actually, it might not be a bad idea to loan a set to someone on one of these forums - this, GolfWRX, MGS, etc and let them start a post on it with photos. It may not reach the level of the 300 page Maltby thread but could get it out there.

Taki27 I have to agree. The Lets Play Thru guy is a single digit, but he did test another all hybrid set I'd never heard of before and liked it. He does seem to like reviewing stuff that's not on everyone's radar. I was a bit surprised he dissed the SMT irons so hard.

I've seen Rick Shiels demo an all hybrid set and gave them a good review. Those guys need content, he'd probably do it and he has 240K subscribers.

Not really liking the SMT diss, just didn't seem like a good reason for it and I don't want to put anything up to chance, just actual performance. Didn't he hit the SMT well?

It seemed like he hit them ok, but he did NOT like the feel/sound or looks at all. He felt they were not forgiving either. It could just come down to the feel/sound totally turning him off. Last time I demoed irons I didn't like any of the Mizuno irons I tried. I thought they all (forged and 2 piece) felt kind of harsh. I'm probably the only guy on the planet that felt that way lol.

Never understood people complaining about 'forgiveness' in an iron head.
It's about 3" long, 2" tall and varies in thickness from under 1/4" down to about 3/4" and made from steel. (averages)

And most people are swinging as fast and hard as they can with the club.

I guess I really do not like golfers.....they are not forgiving enough. And are sometimes too loud/unfeeling!! 😲

Could be? I loved the Miura CB irons and a few of the Callaway irons along with the TM P770 I purchased. This was at a fitters and we tried several different shafts. I've owned other Mizunos and loved the feel, but nothing I tried that day had that sweet forged feeling. Same thing with the Maltby TS2 and TS1. I don't really care for the feel. The TS1-IM and TS3 feel great and even the KE4 Max feels better (for what it is). I've heard the feel of golf clubs is mainly sound so maybe there is some sound my ears just don't like with those heads?

I’d look for you tube guys that reviewed the Takomo irons. They are a notch above other components and the reviewers aren’t solely big money OEM snobs. James Robinson is one guy who comes to mind. Also I think there is an older guy … “the average golfer” maybe that does good reviews.
