Par4QC Dunno about that. One time I went out to play as a single and got paired up with some strangers. On the third tee my driver broke. The fourth hole was a short, narrow par four where I would have used a 5-wood anyway, and the 5th hole was a short part 3 over water.
The 6th was a longish, wide-open par four with an uphill, blind tee shot. One of the guys said, 'here, use my driver, it's cool' and handed me one of those old square Nikes.
Man, I SMOKED that thing. Long and right down the middle. Way better than I ever did with my driver. So he let me play it for the rest of the round. Sure, some of the poon leaked out before the round was done, but it was still one of my best driving days.
Best part is that he tried to sell it to me at the end of the round. I was like 'Who do you think I am? Uncle Steve??!? ' 🤣🤣🤪
