I spent 3 weeks at Fairchild in '73 attending survival school. Can't say that I enjoyed that time.

VigilanteTrail Always appreciated the Life Support folks, my professional life depended on them. Never once had a problem with my gear. Still have my helmet. Now, I'm an old dude working F-35 in the Pentagon. Retired AF in 2000.

Took me some time to be confident talking to the E8/9s, same with crossing the street to avoid Lt Col/Cols. Always found those types were here to "help" when they showed up at my jet (B52s) that I called in broke. Serious good ole days😎

Wing Safety existed to tell me what I couldn't do even when I thought it wasn't "unsafe" as a young guy.🤣

I went directly from sea survival school at Homestead to Fairchild. No fun at Homestead either.

For sure. My worst Army time was basic in Ft. Jackson and Vietnam MI duty. I did have some good times
and made some life-long friends. 👍

Eguller Can honestly say I never had a bad time in the Air Force. Was ready to retire, but no bad times. Glady do it all over again.

Rickochet Yeah, I liked the warm training there but that green radioactive water can't be good for the skin. Thought water survival was a good time though

That was the warm water coming from the Turkey Foot nuke power plant we got to train in. On the positive side my balls still glow in the dark which keep me from peeing on my feet at night. 😜
