My home course is around 6000 yards from the yellow tees (for everyday play) and 6300 yards from the back/competition tees - it's a par 68 course, though (no par 5s), so there are a lot of longer par 4 holes. My best drives carry around 210 yards (on a swing speed that gets into the low 90s on a good day), which means that I have a lot of longer approach shots - it's pretty common for me to have used a hybrid or fairway wood five times (along with three driver shots) by the time I walk off the 5th tee...
My irons are a little bit unusual - when I bought a 5-9 set of Ping i210s in 2021, I asked for the lofts to be tweaked to increase the gaps between the clubs (5-iron 1° strong, 6-iron 1/2° strong, 7-iron standard, 8-iron 1/2° weak, 9-iron 1° weak). That meant that these irons covered the same distances that I got from my previous 4-9 set, so allowed me to carry an extra wedge. (It also gives me nice even gapping from the 50° wedge up to my hybrids - roughly 12 yards between clubs.)
My wedges look pretty standard at first glance - Vokey SM8s, in 46°, 50°, 54° and 60° - but I've gone with the highest bounce version where a choice is available, even though I play a course that's mostly links, with very firm turf in the summer. This is because I play most wedge shots from back in my stance, hitting down on the ball - the higher bounce gives me a little bit more margin for error.
