CallMeAl same here, I struggle to drive at night, if it’s raining at night, I’m just avoiding driving at all costs. That said, I’d do it again without question. I had mine done about 10 years ago (probably more, I never know how long things have been), and to not wake up reaching for glasses etc, so worth it.

I think No told you guys I had an interview with them a couple years ago. I wasn’t going to take the job as it was full time but went through with the interview because it was my chance to find the answers to everyone’s experiences there.

Mike is right, there are quotas, there are shafts and heads you are told to push because it counts more towards the monthly numbers etc… it’s awful, it’s NOT about the person.

Update... still thinking about a way to get a driver similar to what I was fitted for but at a much lower cost.

One thought I had was the 'best driver of 2022,' the Cobra LTDx in the LS version. One of the shaft options from Cobra is a counterweighted, tip-stiff shaft from Mitsubishi, at the same weight as the shaft they fitted me for.

So it's a low-spin head, a counterweighted tip-stiff shaft, and I can get it from the Cobra website for $250.

I don't know that it would be a really close match, but it should fit me a lot better than my current set-up, and the head is mlre forgiving than my current driver, as well.

I thought about the Cobra Aerojet, too, which was last year's model and it appears to be a slightly better head. But they changed ul the shaft options and they no longer offer one with a counterweight. Also, the driver is closer to $400 with one of their stock shafts.

What do you guys think?

rsvman2 Have you considered the new Cobra, DARKspeed? It can be had for under 500, + free ship, on their site(need to OK email blasts for 10% off). You can get custom shafts. Some come with the hefty pricing, but I think you'll find one to suit in the standard offerings, which are many. Check out the UST Lin-Q, blue, or even white. Couple with the LS model.(??)

And did you try the prior model Callaway triple diamond? I suspect you might be able to find it in your price range.

You might.gomtomtge sites like 2dn swing and Pro clubs and filter for the heads and shaft/s you want....might be surprised what shakes loose

Not sure what the diff might be, if any, but I have a brand new one of them, in S(6.0). It came in a new Cobra driver that I had ordered. When I order a new driver I always get a stiff shaft that someone else might want; I use my own shafts that fit me. This thing feels like a beast stick to me, hand flexing it.
The shaft I have has the Cobra connect in the grip end, and it is 44 1/4". Doesn't have an adapter(removed) but I could put one on, depending on head brand.

Yours for the price of shipping, if you'd find a loose head.

Funny that Golfworks has this listed at that price. I can see another GW ad where it is only $50; same details, same statements.

rsvman2 blue is the new yellow fyi.....cannot remember if there was a non smoke rdx Blue, but pretty there was and it was oem only, whereas the smoke is available aftermarket.

I have 2 yellows, 1 new/uncut and 1 with a Cobra adapter. The one with the Cobra adapter was somebody else's short driver experiment and plays at or close to 3w length, iirc, but is untipped.

If no one has suggested it I would get on WRX and frequent the BST as Ive seen two triple diamond in the past few days....not sure of the make up, but often see head only deals on there!

rsvman2 I am hoping that you can steer me to a cheaper price for this same shaft or a cheaper shaft that has similar characteristics. And maybe tell me what low-spin heads are out there that are maybe a year or two older, so I can spend less money.

Par4QC Thanks. Still contemplating. Not entirely sure the fitting was correct.

Thinking about getting a fitting from a local guy that I trust to see if the parameters come out about the same before I make a purchase.

I appreciate everybody's help in this thread. I havent yet figured out if I will seek out a full club or buy the head and shaft separately. If I end up getting parts, I will contact one of the buy hers that have already offered to put it together.

You guys aae the best. I would love to get over for the second-opinion fitting soon, but right now I have a clinched nerve in my left arm and I don't think it would be a gold time to swing a driver. Once this thing cools down, I will contact the local guy and see if he agrees with low spin head and counterweighted, tip stiff shaft.

Thanks again for all your help. I will keep you all updated on the second fitting, and, ultimately, what driver I end up with and how much it ends up costing me.

I put it into my cart but failed to hit 'buy.'

I would rather pay $400 or even $500 and end up with a driver that will maximize distance and accuracy for me than spend $250 on a driver and hope that it works out. So I end up probably overthinking.

sdandrea1 I know!! I passed up the last 2 years of the Cobras because I just didn't think they could get any better than the F9, or even the F8.

But that was when the LTDx was 500. Now that it is 'only' 225, I'm not so sure.🤨🤔

I just shafted up the LTDx Max head I bought and played it Monday. I tended to hit it a good distance, but low/left, but I changed the setting when I got home and will give it another try next week.
