That ref crew was very lacking, letting the game get out of hand. I saw it in the 1st Q...how did they not? And to see Copper be the only one fouling out was surprising. She was the only Mercury player, on an otherwise thug team, that was playing basketball.
5 techs....on 1 play?...and it all started due to a player 'clapping'?? jeezus, quit trying to make a name for yourselves. And, you certainly did that!
Loved it when Kelsey took over point. imo, should be done much more often. Not sure if that was White's call, or CCs though.
Sophie went Timpson on us after missing her first few 3s. Gun shy, hesitant, to the point she bailed out every time. Great contributions otherwise.
Billings had her best game yet!! Finally. Might be the only thing White got right last night, leaving her in longer.
Kelsey throwing up all those 3s was surprising; not so much with CC😄. But they did open up the game, so...
And then there is White... and her no challenges. She saves them 'til something is absolutely, perfectly clear(and oftentimes meaningless, like an OB call), or until late in games, as if they would make any diff when down 20 (ex.) points in the 4th.
They can be used to make a change in the reffing. How does she not know nor see that?
I would like to see a complete blowout on Wednesday and it should be against a team with no one wanting to play/knowing how to play, basketball.
But unless the refs get a handle on things at tip-off, hard to say what will go down.
