Hostile, perhaps. But they definitely do not have players' interests in mind, what is best for them on court anyway.
I haven't checked it all out, but rumors are that several players quit/transferred from under White, as an NCAA coach.
But we only need to look at N. Howard, and what she is doing up in MN to see how much White/her 'system' can hold back a damn good player.

CC has never come right out and said she was injured last season, to the point she was done for the year. imo, White did not want the apple cart upset while they were on a winning roll. CC is such a person that she would never say anything publicly, much as we are seeing now, maybe until after she retires and writes her book.😉Next year??

Par4QC yes, agree CC was the 2nd option and that wasn't a great pass. It floated a LONG time and only a defensive mistake by a rookie allowed it to get through.
Now, this part you won't like but I agree with going to KM if there is 4 seconds or less on the clock
She's guaranteed to at least get a shot off. CC isn't that quick getting her shot off. She can't lose her defender like KM.
10 seconds or so and you want to go to CC , I'm all for it

garyt1957 I'm inclined to believe Caitlin was probably only the last desperation option on that play. Down by only one, I think perhaps Aliyah was the first option with Caitlin clearing out the weak side and Kelsey drawing the defense to the strong side of the lane. Kelsey was, if not the first option, the second. Even though I have all the faith in the world that CC should be the closer all of the time, even I wouldn't try to set her up for a 3 pointer in that situation if she was the go to.

Watched a different view of the shot yesterday, showing much more of the floor. Lexi was wide open just to the right of Sophie and much closer to the basket than CC or Kelsey.

I also saw an interview with Kelsey where she stated the shot went down as drawn up! White did not call the play, that may be why she wasn't all smiles after.😄
And CC says she never wants that shot. I don't blame her.

Sophie is listed as 'probable/game time decision' for tonight with right elbow problem. Must have tweaked it on the pass.

If CC and Sophie were really at the NBA finals last night like the photos on X seem to indicate, I take that as White has definitely lost at least a chunk of the team. I've seen CC say previously that she would have liked to have seen a Pacers playoff game but couldn't because she had to prepare for a game the next day. I know she has historically been conscientious in preparing for her own responsibilities, but that doesn't seem to be important to her right now.

johnnydoom Yeah, I couldn't find anything to back up that pic. Knowing they were all at practice in Indy yesterday and it is usually late a.m. after a game. Plus the fact(imo) CC and Sophie are not that close, if at all any more, this season for them to be traveling together.

Next 2 games will not be easy. Their records are very deceiving. If Indy is not on top of their game, they may lose both.

Looked to me that Lexi was only open after Sophie turned her head to look at CC. Citron and McMahon were both on Lexi (one was supposed to go with Caitlin) until Sophie looked them off by turning to Caitlin.

I was punked. According to X, it is a real picture from last year's All Star game when both were injured, not from last night's NBA Championship game.

johnnydoom It's hard for me to believe it went down as drawn up. They only needed 2 points and any play at that point would/should be for close(st) to basket. CC and Kelsey were both in the 3 point area and they knew 1 or both would be doubled.

They are all actors and we are merely the audience/next day QBs😄.

Par4QC In as much as everyone went where they were supposed to go, I think the play was drawn that way. Caitlin and Lexi crossed under the basket trying to draw their defenders with them away. Kelsey was trying to curl around the key and head downhill towards the baseline on the strong side bringing her defender with her and probably hoping to draw Austin away from Aliyah. It looks like they were trying to isolate Aliyah for a pass to either go one-on-one with her defender from six feet, or to kick it back to Sophie after she entered the court when the defense would be collapsing. It was a nicely drawn play to clear out everything underneath for Aliyah (either by in-bounds pass or assist from a driving Kelsey) and the players made great adjustments on the fly just as soon as they realized Caitlin was left uncovered. A lot happened in less than 5 seconds with the 3 players in motion.

Was looking for game time tonight and disappointed to see 6:00, which is family supper time. Oh well, I'll miss the first half. Shocking to me is that it looks like the Liberty/Dream game is not televised. Something seems really wrong with that! Probably can find a live feed on YouTube.

Most weekday games are not televised nationally, unless it is the Fever. Some other teams (few) will be shown on USA or ION, but other than that, local channels only, from what I've been seeing. Weekends are a different story as there will be games on that may not be Fever games.
I don't have any cable, streaming, or such, but got lucky finding that our local ABC station is going to carry all of the Fever games on their 'alternate' channel, which I can get.

I do follow live scoring most games/nights though.
I was laughing the other night about Angel and her 3 blocks......that is to say....SHE had 3 shots blocked😲! Wish I could have seen her face.

Don't get me wrong though, Angel is a greatly improved player. She is now doing on her own what she was being forced into 'trying' to be last season. And is much better for it. I watch her games when they are viewable for me, or sometimes watch replays on YT.

Tonight.....CC/Sophie vs. Jacy.🤣
Def not going to be an easy game. Coin toss, imo.

Fever wins! CC & AB were hot tonight. Even with mistakes.

Blown 19 point lead was not a surprise, for me anyway. Part of the Fever M.O. the past 3 seasons. The Sun will be no pushover either in the next game.

garyt1957 I do. I watched the 2nd quarter (probably me that jinxed the Fever) through 2 minutes into the 4th and then my internet went down. It is still down. I do tend to forget that I can make my phone a hotspot and use it, so I could have watched the rest of the game and OT if I had thought of it, but it slipped my mind. Didn't really want to watch on the phone and forgot about the hotspot part for the TV.

That's strange. The post with the video of the ball going off of Kelsey's leg disappeared. Oh well. If they were in the bonus, then it was dumb and very bad coaching. If not, then it was an understandable, but very untimely ball handling error. I'm not inclined to think that Kelsey is affected by pressure much. She seems to treat every play the same regardless of the situation, which comes with both good and bad.

The dumbest thing in that game....actually in any game I've watched....was when Chicago got the ball and inbounds at .02 seconds. Then they hit a 3 pointer to tie. The ball was not inbounded to the shooter, so a pass was made. Fever were up by 3.
Why was there not an immediate foul??........well, after watching White's post game interview....they were told not to foul. 😲.....
“I think we had time to take a foul, that’s something we worked on a lot in training camp, and with game planning recently, we haven’t worked on probably as much as that situation as we needed to,” said White. “We talked about it as a staff, but then you got to trust that you can go out and execute it in those moments too. We just decided to stay the match that time, and we still talk about it after the game.

Even if they should 'win out', I do not see CC signing that 4th year contract. Not all, but several teams would readily match her Epic Max offer. jmo
