Ever think about, perhaps, analyzing the game, or the team as a whole, or opponents defense, instead of just 1 player?
In a game where there were 22 offensive rebounds, and 64 defensive rebounds, collectively.....did ya ever think it may not have been 1 person causing the stink? Of course not, CC had 7 D rebounds, but just could not get/was not allowed clear shots. Point out a minor flaw.....She is shit. Get rid of her.

Maybe take a look at Mitchell's performance. A lot worse than CC's. Oh but wait...she was high scorer. and is still missing several easy layups per game. Ball hogging again this year.

I might even mention something about the refs. But I won't because Stewie got her allotment of (deserving) 21 free throws....mainly in Q4.🤔

Par4QC CC is the star. You always deflect to other players. You will never say a bad word about her. I'm a realist. I see a "star" who is shooting 37% overall and 32% from 3. If KM took those ridiculous logo threes you'd have a conniption.
C'mon, say it with me, CC had a b,b,ba c'mon you can get it out, bad shooting game again. There ! doesn't that feel good? You're like all the teenage girl fans of CC. She can do no wrong.
I see flaws in her game that you refuse to see. But I do want her to do well just to shut up the racists who hate her just because she's white. But I don't know if she has it in her.
My only real complaint with CC is the reliance on threes. She's just not a good 3 point shooter. 34% year one, 28% year two and now 32% this year is a trend. She's developed a nice mid range step back, she's getting to the basket ( but then inexplicably will just dribble out and reset which kills the shot clock) she's developed a runner, why not use those more? Why are you shooting contested 3's when you make them at a 34% clip?

garyt1957 The one thing I've never said about her, and will never say, is that she is the star. She may well have been that at Iowa, but will never be that in the WNBA. At Iowa they set her up to be such. And allowed it to be. And just look at how they did when they allowed it. 'nuff said about that.

I point out others on the team when it is pointed out about her failings...which are very similar to all the other team members.

I've never said, nor thought, that CC was a '3 point shooter'. It's just another shot from her, for me.

Kelsey is also a horrible 3 point shooter....CC was better than her last night, for ex.. And along those lines, no one in the WNBA is a good 3 point shooter, no one! Very low % shot and they all know it yet do it anyway. Do I sit here and cringe and yell...'hey dumbass, stop shooting those', when she's way off....oh hell yes I do! I do think, sometimes, she continues in order to try to open up the floor. They were not letting anyone inside last night.
I will continue to always say, shooting %s be damned. It's the total points made after shooting that count. Kelsey had 21, with a bad night. CC had 10 with a bad night. But CCs %s were better, right?

It's just basketball, bad shooting nights will happen more than good shooting nights. %wise. Always, by all players. And they never stop shooting when they are having an off night. None of them, from my viewing of many teams.

Now. about me being a girly fan....not really, but I have followed her even before the WNBA. Had to being 60 mi. from Ia. City, and with local TV. Wasn't much choice.

I'm a person that does not like seeing talk of/about someone/anyone that only points out what may be their weaknesses/failings, be it sports, political, etc.. The reason I don't watch much news. David Muir (ex.) only devotes 2 minutes out of 30 to 1 person that did good, every night.🤔

Even the 'damnedest'😉 of people do a lot of good things in their work.
CC does a lot of good on the basketball floor. As do others.

Get used to CC leading the league in assists, scoring 18-20 ppg, being a perennial all star and finishing top 5 in the MVP voting (but maybe never winning one) and shooting low FG %. Video game CC is a thing of the past. Get used to it.

CC is the only star. No other player is selling out arenas when they go on the road. She has seemingly made more commercials in 3 years than all of the other WNBA players in 30 years combined. A’Ja, with the championships and MVP bonifides, doesn’t draw the attention and raise the ratings.

As for being the best, that doesn’t appear to be allowed. Either because of injury, or from refusal by her coach, she won’t or can’t play the style of ball that made her more popular than any other woman basketball player in history. She shined the 2nd half of her rookie season and since then other teams, with the apparent blessing of the league, have resolved to shut her down by any means necessary. And her current coach has apparently resolved to make her adapt to the WNBA style rather than try to facilitate the game people will actually pay to see.

And I doubt her longevity in the game. The 'outside noise' is taking it's toll the past week. She has not been the same on court, nor in interviews. But she is stubborn as Hell & is trying to fight though all that and play at the top of her game.
Not working so well, from what I'm seeing. Neither is her shrink.

What a weird and highly inconsistent game. The Fever get a good lead and then the refs call a foul on every contact for 5 or 6 plays in a row to keep them from running away with it. And then in the last 3 minutes of the half I thought the Fever committed 3 or 4 blatant fouls that weren’t called.

I think I’m actually hoping the Fever lose now. It will bring them closer to trading Clark or firing White.

Did not want her to be the one to take that shot. Whether it went in or not. Had it missed, well...we know what would have ensued. Rather have seen Mitchell take it. She misses so many... wayyy too many... easy baskets and never gets taken to task.

Apparently, they only played in a 4,000-seat arena last night in Washington and didn't even sell that out. The Caitlin brand is dying quickly although I did see a lot of 22 Fever jerseys in the crowd even at that. Pretty loud cheer for Caitlin when she made the shot too.

After watching the replay several times, I noticed the route Kelsey took on that inbounds pass. She was the primary choice for that shot, not Caitlin. No way would you try an across court pass like that, with a couple seconds left. But, Kelsey was doubled & would have had no chance at a shot. That also shows that the other team knew she was the primary.
Nice that Sophie did not hesitate. But probably caught some shit behind closed doors from the coach.

I still think things are not good in Indy.
A lot of rumors floating around they are going to dump CC, or maybe she has asked to be traded(?), 1 of the reasons they got rid of their inside reporter, Agness, imo. No outside eyes.

And Seattle seems to be making room for a new acquisition by getting rid of a couple capable guards.
Ya just never know.....

Par4QC Agreed. You could tell that Clark's only real job on that play was to draw the defense away from the basket. After the buzzer when Caitlin and Sophie hug, you could kind of tell with the covered mouth comment that Sophie told Caitlin how glad she was that she made the shot or Sophie was going to get roasted for going rogue. You could also see from White's stoic reaction to the shot that she doesn't want Caitlin to be the hero. I know there was still time left that she had to consider, but you would at least expect a smile. Caitlin and White didn't even look at each other on the passing high-five when White pulled her for the defensive sub. I don't care what they say about riding with each other, neither of them has any appreciation whatsoever for the other's strategic philosophy. White may have a winning pro record, but I think it probably has more to do with her getting teams with good players to start with and not with any special ability on her part. It seems pretty clear that Lin Dunn and Stephanie White are more interested in creating equity of some sort than they are about bringing fans and money to the organization.

Par4QC yes, agree CC was the 2nd option and that wasn't a great pass. It floated a LONG time and only a defensive mistake by a rookie allowed it to get through.
Now, this part you won't like but I agree with going to KM if there is 4 seconds or less on the clock
She's guaranteed to at least get a shot off. CC isn't that quick getting her shot off. She can't lose her defender like KM.
10 seconds or so and you want to go to CC , I'm all for it

johnnydoom Lin Dunn and Stephanie White

I thought that Dunn was placed to oversee White in order to get the most of CC's capabilities. I've since changed my mind and can see Dunn is no longer in CC's corner, as she has been/was from the draft. Fever have turned into a 'good ol' gals' org, imo. Former players as coaches, etc.. Which, to me, is 'old school type' of play thinking. If they want that, and for it to be successful, they will need to remove CC entirely from the org. The other gals were not brought up playing the style CC was/does/wants/needs. They will get along without her; they are very good, all in their own rights.
Just all seems suspicious at to what we are seeing, esp. as you mentioned, the demeanor between White and CC on camera during games. After & before games are mere theatrics, and expected. I also notice CC is not 'chumming' with anyone the past 7-10 days, since the outburst.

Seattle really does not need her either, they have many really good players. But are losing. But, they have also brought back a couple off injury list and they are doing quite well. But still losing🤔.
Not saying they will go after CC though. Just shittin' ya. 🤣
People are posting that LA wants her. But I don't see the room. Nor the need.

@ 1:35 White heaps praise on CC & Sophie in the locker room....🤔😖....such excitement....

Par4QC She might be able to get away from hostile management, I don't know, but if the league is conspiring (cue the refs), it won't matter too much what she does. She'll never be able to be CC again unless she goes to Europe or convinces some rich entity to create a more viable competitor league than Unrivaled.

It's been a few months now since the Fever picked up the 4th year of CC's rookie contract. Under that contract she is due an 'epic deal' such as AB got. Probably more $$ though per qualifications/performance.

She has not signed anything. And no rumors of negotiations.

Not sure why the Fever games always have the same ref crew. And they call about 50(avg.) per game, along with several reviews/game, when other games may not see 35 or any reviews. Last night was out of hand.....over 2.5 hours.

Hostile, perhaps. But they definitely do not have players' interests in mind, what is best for them on court anyway.
I haven't checked it all out, but rumors are that several players quit/transferred from under White, as an NCAA coach.
But we only need to look at N. Howard, and what she is doing up in MN to see how much White/her 'system' can hold back a damn good player.

CC has never come right out and said she was injured last season, to the point she was done for the year. imo, White did not want the apple cart upset while they were on a winning roll. CC is such a person that she would never say anything publicly, much as we are seeing now, maybe until after she retires and writes her book.😉Next year??

Par4QC I have no proof and am probably full of ****, but I think the calls are intentionally meant to stop the play frequently so that the other team's starters can rest. Even under Stephanie White, the players are trying to run and push the pace and others like Mitchell and Boston have gone out of their way to take on extra conditioning to run with/for Caitlin and get down the floor ahead of her. When they do this for a few minutes uninterrupted, just about every team they play, except this year's Dallas Wings, and Sonia Citron (all by herself!) are gassed and can't sustain any offense. They give the other teams plenty of rest breaks to keep things interesting.
