In a game where teams intentionally commit fouls as part of a (largely accepted) strategy to stop the clock in an effort to come back at the end, why would it be surprising that the better free throw shooters try to draw a call from the refs. rather than let their less capable teammates be put in that position. I used to dis floppers, but when I came to that realization I concluded that it is just a strategy to try to use the rules no different than intentionally fouling at the end of games or hack-a-Shaq and the like. The only fix, as far AFAIK is good discretion from the officials, I don't blame the players for using the system. I would if the disdain was applied equally to the intentionally fouler as it is to the intentional flopper, but it doesn't seem to be in most fans or analysts eyes.
