sdandrea1 as a Northerner transplanted to the South, the Italian food has to count for the North, the only way to get any that’s worth a crap below PA is to find a NYer who moved and opened a restaurant. Buffalo wings are most definitely another one that’s hard to find done right in the south.
That said, there are a lot of delicious dishes in the south you just don’t see in the north. I’d give the slight nod to the north overall, but that’s largely because I do love Italian food.
