Par4QC WD-40 would be counter intuitive, and I must add I've never needed to use goo-gone, contrary to belief, hairspray really doesn't leave any residue. I'll say this, just sharing a method to use to regrip clubs, it's worked for me for several years, and since I'm not a self-proclaimed "grip blower" like @SMT I must suggest you use your own method that you feel comfortable with. If you're that skeptical, go to your local golf grip "blower" and pay $5-$10 a club plus grips to do it for ya. Waste of money IMO. Not sure I'd like to be known as a "grip blower" anyways, just saying
