I can attest to the fact that this is the only way I've ever used. Aqua Net or Rave hair spray, the cheap stuff works best. Spray the double-sided tape, tape to where you leave 1/2 inch clearance from the bottom of the tape to the bottom of the grip, douse the inside of the grip and the tape in hair spray, twist to fit how you want, wait 24 hours, them grips never moving

Not tough, but the group knows what they are doing.

So, having been blowing on (and off) grips for years now, my thoughts/comments follow -

If you are going to put grip tape on the shaft, the least that you can do is press it down along the length of the tape. The bubbles and "soon to be " creases can be felt in a thin grip like a Velvet.
If, for some reason, you are going to piss away money and use hair spray..... why in the heck would you spray it AT (not so much, in) the mouth of the grip from 2 or 3 inches away? Are you not familiar with hairspray and what it is used for? Certainly you know what that overspray id doing to your workbench and any future repairs for customers/friends.
How do you explain to your customer(s) what the sticky shit is at the last 3 to 8 inches of your grip due to overspray?
if this "tutorial" did you happen to think about mentioning other installation fluids that are NOT flammable?
If, again, this a "tutorial", do you think that you probably could have actually explained the installation process as opposed to.... "REALLY JAM IT ON THERE"?

I just don't to keep going on this because, I can recognize a "shoemaker" from 12 paces.

If you're already going to use double sided tape I don't see the appeal to using hairspray over solvent.
