letthebigdogshunt +There is a plethora of really good players in the top ten right now. Wie continues to play well. David Leadbetter has said she is back to swinging well again. Guess he was correct at least for two rounds. Her new putting stance and putter seem to be working as well. She is going to have a tough time beating those around her for text two rounds though.
TonyJesselli Here are the leaders after round 3: 1 Michelle Wie -14 T2 Lydia Ko -12 T2 Sung Hyun Park -12 T2 Ariya Jutanugarn -12 For more scores: http://www.tonyslpgareport.com/2017/02/hsbc-womens-champions-preview-pairings.html
darpar Wie SEEMS like a much better putter now that she got away from that awkward looking 90° bent over look of old.....this would be a good win for her if she can hang on for one more round!
letthebigdogshunt The thing I like about her this week is she is really striking the ball well. Her driver is finding fairways and she is hitting greens. Plus Darpar you are correct she is putting very well with her new style.
TonyJesselli Here are the final results: 1 Inbee Park -19 2 Ariya Jutanugarn -18 3 Sung Hyun Park -16 For more scores: http://www.tonyslpgareport.com/2017/02/hsbc-womens-champions-preview-pairings.html
mikeintopeka Michelle Wie finishes with an even par round and remained at -14, good for a 4th place tie. I haven't read any other summaries of the tournament but I'm thinking (to use an old cliche') "it was a good experience for her learning to play while in contention again".
rsvman Inbee Park had nine birdies, one bogey in the final round. When she is on, she is on! She might even be a better mid-distance putter than Speith.
mcavoy rsvman Her speed is almost always perfect, from any distance. They roll in with perfect pace. She's rarely outside the leather when she misses. It's uncanny really. Easily one of the best 3 putters on any tour right now.
letthebigdogshunt Agree when Inbee is on she makes almost everything. If she misses it is just by a hair. Tremendous putter for sure. Seven birdies in a eight hole run and 8 in a ten hole run. Wie needed to shoot 66 today to win. I believe when she missed that birdie putt on the par 5 early in the round it really hurt her. She left two putts short and lipped out two more on the front nine. Regardless if someone told Wie before the started she would finish tied for 4th place I doubt she would have believed it. I hope this is the start of something good for her. She has had a rocky two years since she won her US Open.
ptjn1201 Nine threes and a two in one round for Inbee -- gee, it usually takes me a month to get that 🙂
letthebigdogshunt Orlimar1 I thought the same thing as well. Putting for birdie on that par 5 and making a four putt double bogey made her gun shy on her next few putts for birdie that she subsequently left short. Another foot on each putt would have resulted in a birdie. She also had a gaggle of lip outs and could have shot a much better score than she ended up with. Still doubt she would have would overtaken Inbee was just lights out on the greens Sunday.
