You made me do some digging. I've been using (and used to sell) his shafts since they came out, 2007....the Whup 'N' Shaft. It's been a long ride. Still using a lot of them....the newer ones of course.
Actually, was buying shafts from him before that, Penley shafts. iirc, him and Carter were/are good friends.
