Supposedly Yasir is a big fan of the team games. Why only 54 holes and no cut though, I don't know why. I think you'll see some team games in any deal going forward.

There's talk of a Ryder Cup type team format with different countries forming the teams, i.e. USA vs. Australia etc.. Or corporate sponsored teams, i.e. Fed Ex vs. AT&T etc..

Seems like a lot to figure out in a short time frame though.

The ones that went first took the money knowing they'd get suspended from the PGA Tour (like Rahm just did) and jeopardize playing in future Majors with no world ranking points playing for LIV.

I'm wondering if Rahm was told any deal would have to include LIV players getting world ranking points. Rahm seemed genuine talking about legacy being important in light of his hero being Seve.

But maybe $560 million was enough to forget about any historical record on the PGA Tour.

Sneakylong could be some fun to be had in the end if the two can coexist, maybe even a bit of a rivalry between tours and team events between the two leagues. To me that would be more.interesting then nations as we already have RC, Pres Cup etc. Defectors vs. the guys who did not take the $ would be super cool IMO.

As it stands now anything is possible. But again, it seems like a lot to be ironed out before the end of the year.

I think we might under-estimate the impact that playing on the PGA has on family life. There are over 40 tournaments on the PGA Tour, and members have to play a minimum of 15 plus some players (like Rahm) now have to play in each event at least once every 4 years. Most members play between 20 - 30 tournaments per year. If you have a young family (like Jon Rahm does), that is a lot of time spent away from your kids at home.

By contrast, the LIV golf season is 12 tournaments (one or two per month from Feb to Aug), plus some players could play in a few majors if they qualify.

I don't know if that had an impact on Jon's decision, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a factor.

Everyone thinks traveling for work is glamorous and easy until they do it for an extended period.

I think it would suck if time with your family is critical. Most professional sports jobs come with big $ and big family-related sacrifices.
