DC300 sdandrea1 agreed. I’m going down a similar path now. We just found a home that fit our lives far better than our current home, so we jumped on it, completely unplanned and now I’m trying to scramble to finish our house and get everything lined up for the new house. Double pain in the @$$ because I’m also the Realtor for both transactions. Financially, it’s a huge bonus, reality is, it sucks to add it on top of everything else. As you said, too blessed to worry about the stress. We are extremely fortunate to have the ability to do this, so I’ll suck it up and be happy about it.

sdandrea1 VA house closed, moved out, cancelled insurance, HOA fees, pest control contract, real estate taxes, golf membership, utilities, internet fees. We just got a pay raise!
sdandrea1 Eguller And, seems you weren’t enamored with the course anyway. 😉 Actually, I enjoyed the challenge and the zoysia fairways are always in great shape. It was a typical P.B. Dye course - punishes slightly errant shots unmercifully. Just gotta change expectations when there and our new VA home is still in the area, so while I may not join when we move back, I certainly will still tee it up there.......
sdandrea1 One more closing saga/drama. We cancelled our annual termite control contract (which was just renewed a few months back) and asked for a pro-rated refund on the balance. The office manager says "oh, we don't do that. Your coverage automatically transfers to the new owners". I turned SWMBO loose on them. "We paid for the coverage, the new owners did not. That's not your decision to make on our behalf." Some more discussion ensues and we settled on a free year of service at the new place.
