Par4QC rynobucket Don't have to spend $40. https://www.diamondtour.com/club-making/ferrules-and-adapters/1-inch-colored-iron-ferrules-dozen.html They also have aluminum.
rynobucket Par4QC Don't have to spend $40. https://www.diamondtour.com/club-making/ferrules-and-adapters/1-inch-colored-iron-ferrules-dozen.html Still too busy for my eye, but those are much more acceptable (looks and pricewise) than what I initially thought the OP was referring to (BB&F type colors). Still twice the cost of classic black. BAAARRFFFF!!!
Walterjn rynobucket Nearly all of the builds I see with the BB&F ferrules look hideous to my eye, almost like someone barfed after eating a huge bag of skittles. I completely feel the same. They are always way onto gaudy and overdone.
mulegolf Back when I was building and selling clubs I made a lot of custom ferrules. I'd order black ferrules and different colored trim rings and make them up. I didn't do any of the wild ass combos I've seen on the internet lately though. Mine were just to accent the colors in the iron head cavity most of the time. I also used trim rings to match the color of driver and fairway heads and/or shafts.
Typhoon rynobucket the BB&F ferrules look hideous Yupโฆ fruity assed shit. Save it for Flag fuckin Football โฆ Itโs like painting unicorns and putting ribbons on your hockey gloves. It limits the resale opportunities. I look at iron sets all the time and as soon as I see that crap I shake my head in disgust.
rsvman2 Thinking about customs from bbandf, but nothing outrageous. I like the ones called 'mint.' They are black, with three simple stripes, dark green/white/dark green. They look kinda old school, and the dark green isn't gaudy.
colej rynobucket My thought was how do you pull a graphite shaft with the aluminum ferrule? Do you push against the top of the ferrule?
Rickochet colej My thought was how do you pull a graphite shaft with the aluminum ferrule? Do you push against the top of the ferrule? Heat the ferrule first before you even put the club in a clamp and slide it up the shaft a few inches then put the club in the puller and pull the shaft. After cleaning the shaft slide the ferrule off. I use a butane micro torch. I have never done an aluminum ferrule but I don't see why it would be diff than a plastic one.
rynobucket What is really crazy about how stupid some have gotten with the colored ferrules occurred on another forum. Somebody actually posted asking what shafts they should install to look the best with the awful colored ferrules they had purchased from the site I mentioned above. Ferrules are the socks of the clothing world, you use what matches the rest of the getup, not base everything else off of your Rainbow Brite socks.
Typhoon rynobucket As Iโve said beforeโฆ playing the actual sport of golf is at the bottom of their list.
[deleted] I've used black, red, orange and white ferrules and for the most part black. I don't get the allure of the multi color stuff, but hey what ever works for you.
AdamMH azgreg I like a really tall ferrule, but BB&F has yet to produce anything 2" long that doesn't look like a Home Depot paint department accident ๐
