Drivers that Exude Confidence

You guys ever notice how you just stand over a driver and know you can kill it and it’s going to be solid, far and straight? I hit the Ping G430 max today with the Ping Tour shaft and the LST. The LST is great, looks great etc… but I get over the Max and something about the way it feels and the shape, I swing hard at it and know it’s gonna be solid. I get that feeling with my old G400max. I don’t get it with my Stealth or Sim… I used to get it with my RBZ Tour driver.

I used to feel that way with the original Cleveland Launcher and a Titleist 913 D3 that I still own.
I had it with my SIM for awhile and I keep trying to recreate it.
Never had it with any PIngs but I never tried the Max versions.

Typhoon I liked the older TM drivers especially the R9 460. 919 was good to me too. Nothing has really stood out since then. I love the feel/sound and forgiveness of of my Rogue ST Max, but it doesn't have the pop of the Epic Max LS....it is straighter though.

Truth be told ....it takes a few rounds before I can say I like something or not.....but once that happens, it exudes confidence.

If you like Max try the Tour Edge E series.....similar in performance but not in look or feel. I think it helps to differentiate the two....and the G Max and Tour Edge E look a LOT different IMO, but perform similarly!

Typhoon it's all about how I'm swinging for me. I've had utmost and zero confidence in every driver I've owned at one time or another

My buddy still has this in his bag, despite trying to replace it every couple years. The Fubuki shaft plays a part as well.

I'm still playing a TM 2016 M2...

Yes, my current driver exudes confidence. It says to me "swing as hard as you want". Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo. Ball.Go.Straight.

Unfortunately, I really don't know that feeling, or, at least, haven't felt it for so long that I don't remember wht it feels like.

I have that feeling with my current 5-wood, which I hit off almost every tee today because it is so much more reliable than my driver.

I see several of them every morning on way to work. Evidently we have some exclusive money races here in our towns. I’ve never been invited to the circuit
Maybe they get a little extra on their checks for getting to work 5 minutes early

Reading all these posts makes me ask the question......if you have no confidence in the driver in your bag...why is it in your bag??

The 'no confidence' vote typically comes from after a few poor drives.
And that ain't about the club.😉

I would argue some jump right from 2 to 9. 🙂 I can go from 2 to 5 pretty quickly during a round.
