What TT shaft does the Spectre Lite play closest to?
How does it compare to the Phantom?

The Spectre Lite plays quite a bit stiffer compared to the Phantom. It's a fairly harsh/rigid shaft IMHO, while the Phantom has a much smoother feel to it. I'd liken it to the feel of the Dynalite Gold SL from back in the day, but not quite as low-launching.

customgolfcenter Would the Spectre Lite work for someone with speed and a quick transition? I’ve done ok with some Kinetixx Ballistic 110s but don’t want to spend up on them. interested in trying something lighter weight just to see how it feels.

I just looked it up in the Wishon shaft profiler, and the closet True Temper shaft is actually the TX-90 - it's nearly an identical match. The Dynalite Gold SL is also very close, but with a much stiffer tip (by 50 CPM). But notice how the R-flex of the Spectre matches up to the S-flex in both TT shafts, so as I mentioned above it definitely plays on the stiffer side.

customgolfcenter Thanks James, that is great info. I really like the DGSL in R flex, so that makes me think I'd have to under-tip the Spectre Lite to have a chance of it working. I should pick up a couple and try them.

DonM There is plenty of room to play around with tip-trimming on the Spectre Lite, especially since they are trimmed at 2" increments between flexes rather than the typical 1". It looks like from R to S there is a 12CPM difference, so at 12CPM per 2" you're looking at about 3 CPM per 1/2". The DGSL R-flex is listed at 296CPM while the Spectre Lite R-flex is 305CPM, so to get it down closer to 296 you'd need to soft step by 2-3 clubs.

I've built and played 3-4 sets with these. "Harsh" never entered my mind.

LBlack14 I’m the same way with DGSL. Everyone else says it’s harsh.

I bought 6 to do some Cobra irons. I built a test 7 iron yesterday. Haven’t hit it yet.

From a club builder perspective,
-Not the straightest shafts. They all rolled thump thump thump on a flat counter top.
-Weights varied from 104 to 109.
-They all wobbled until I found the FLO planes.
-CPM frequencies were decently tight except the heaviest one was stiffer.
-The test club was tipped an inch less than the chart for an R flex 7 iron, but it still came out as a soft S. This might be why people say they are harsh or whatever. I think I’ll like them, though.

First impressions on the range were good.
It has the one piece feel of a DG type shaft. Which is what I prefer. I’m going to finish the set.
