DeepRed they were def higher (slightly) and a softer/less penetrating flight. I attributed this to higher spin. They are forgiving enough and I played them for a half season and ultimately gave up on them, mostly as the leading edge is not very friendly for a steep/ish swing.

I have TE's and KE4 Tour+'s and the KE4's are about a half club longer than the TE's.

azgreg That's my experience with the TE. It's a half club shorter than the TE+. I have a TE set stowed at my in-laws house and play them exclusively when I visit. I have a good impact position with my hands ahead of the ball and had some of my best rounds with the TE last week. Alternatively, flipping with the TE will cause excessive spin, reducing distance.

I thought that might be the issue so I had a teaching pro watch and he said that’s not the issue. I’m very upright these days due to a left knee weakness and I hit the ball first so I am imparting a lot of spin he said.

Sparky that's what happens when you get popular on WRX🙃.....IMO they should have done the "refresh" on these, kept the STi2 and dumped the S.

ode I would have preferred to see the KE4 Tour refreshed too. Good head that just needed the new Maltby design look.

KCee Yeah but they're going to do a forged version with stupidly strong lofts at 3 times the price.

Moving to what they have done on the TS line is a smart move.....but the address position is still what matters IMO and as far as I can tell the refresh of the STi2 didn't make that any different 🙃

Golfworks needs more economical cast iron options. As much as I like their forgings, $60 per head and $700-900 for a complete set with premium shafts is OEM pricing. I still have a Golfworks catalog from 1989 and later years, when it was a frugal alternative to retail, but not anymore.

colej lol.....oh yeah, forgot about you being in the next tax bracket🙃.....by the way been giving the 1-IM 8i a workout this fall....and it's definitely a winner. Will it stop me from trying the 3🤔....once I got used to the 1-IM and swing it like normal it's performed quite well. The only difference between the build with the STi2 is I went to an R flex Nippon 1150 vs. the S that I'm currently in. I wanted to hard step the R but the dedicated length is so short, combined with the BBGM would not allow it. When I first tried it over the summer I had a hard time adjusting to it, the flight was noticably higher compared to the STi2. When I went back to it this fall I did not notice that as much and started to hit some of my go to shots. Now I'm thinking about the set!

It has a different profile than the 950/1050. How does it compare to other shafts, like the Modus?

azgreg thankfully I have a set that will remain in the stable. The WRX crew can have the "clean look" for $8 more per 🙃

pellmell I have tried Modus 120, 125, and 130.....but not in the same head or side by side with the 1150. I've heard the 1150 is similar to the KBS Tour in profile but @scotts33 might need to chime in on that. I did not care for the 120, the 130 was OK, and the 125 gave me the best results/flight I could work with....based on my limited time with it, I'd say the 125 would be the closest. The 1150 profile just flat out works for me!
