Called TaylorMade yesterday and the guy asked me if I bought the clubs in the last 2 - 2 1/2 years. I said I wasn't sure when I bought them, but most likely are older than that.

He said they'd allow a free repair this one time. So the wedge is off to California. Should get it back in ~ 3 weeks. Can't complain about that.

TM is very good if the item is within the stated warranty period. Outside of that, it is hit or miss. I once
had a R510TP that was in its 5th year of warranty and they replace the rear weight that fell out gratis. 👍

One of my buddies just got a set of TM hybrid irons at Christmas....Stealth HD. The plating is coming off the cavity badges. TM owns the highest occurrence of repairs needed of any OEM clubs brought to me for fixing.

sdandrea1 That’s the cool thing, every year he can get new clubs!. You hear about more problems now because of social media that wasn’t around in the Ping Eye 2 days. But with the badges, multi piece designs held together by glue I can see where shit falls apart.

This is a couple of years ago but I had a customer ask me to get a new shaft for his Taylor Made driver. The original
one broke. I called Taylor Made and told them I was a custom club maker with almost 30 years experience and asked if
they would sell me a shaft so I could replace my customer's broken shaft. We talked a bit more and they ended up sending me a shaft and a new tip. They didn't charge me for it. It wasn't exactly the same shaft but the rep. told me it should play
almost the same. I checked with my customer and he said go ahead and put it into the head. I did so and he loved it. He said it played even better than the original.

I still believe you cannot wear out the original PING single-piece lost-wax investment castings. Gotta buddy in Florida with IsI irons..... original owner since 1996, plays 2 to 3 times a week all year. Irons look new.

Got my wedge back from TaylorMade today. New shaft and grip. Took 12 days round trip. The Ping G400 AW can go back to backup status again.

Sneakylong Nice that they had the blue shaft to match. I still haven't opened the box yet with my new clubs in it. Hope they are what I ordered
