I remember a version of that being out in the 60's. It may have also had a telescoping shaft so you could carry it in a suitcase or briefcase.

I had, actually still have one from the late 60's and one from the early 70's. I did a lot of traveing so it was ideal, collaspe the shaft and go, I had a metal divot tool I used to adjust, but a quarter worked just as well. Played okay with it but the shaft for putting was never comfortable.

Might bring it out and try it again, but carry a putter as well,so 2 clubs....

The biggest issue with the Adjust-A-Club is as you changed the loft the bounce changed to not ideal on many shots. I found a picker did better with them and they also were more blade like in that better ball strikers did better with them as there is not built in forgiveness.

DonM if you practice it, you absolutely could. For me, it would be the 7 iron as my choice of one iron, but that’s just preference. Flight it up, down, 3/4, half swings, you can make almost any shot work with it. I used to play a 3 club challenge tournament every year, you wouldn’t believe the number of guys who actually shot BETTER scores than with a full set. I also have a Pinhawk 5 iron that I could arguably make the only iron in my bag, once you get a feel for it, it’s no different than hitting shorter shots with wedges.

Our scramble today was 4 clubs + putter. I brought Driver, 5h, 7h, 9i and a putter. The driver was used at full swing/distance. I worked the hell out of my 5h, 7h and 9i to cover all shots for the 3W, 5w, 5h, 6, 7, 8, 9, W, GW, SW. I think I could have shot my normal score with this set.
