Yeah, seriously. I mean, man the f up. There's no sugarcoating the comments he made, which Weirfan attributed to Perez in his initial post. Just to clarify - he did say these things, right?
**"He knows he can't beat anybody. He’s got this new corporation he started so he has to keep his name relevant to keep the corporation going. So he’s going to show up to a few events, he’s going to try to play...he’s going to show the Monster bag, he’s going to show the TaylorMade driver, he’s gonna get on TV. He’s got the Nike clothes, he’s gotta keep that stuff relevant.
But the bottom line is he knows he can't beat anybody. He knows it. He shot 77! That guy can't shoot 77. What does he do the next day? 'Aw my backs gone.' He knows he can't beat anybody!"**
I don't care how much "respect" Perez attempted to pay Tiger prior to making those comments. He threw down the gauntlet with what he said (which mind you - again - is fairly accurate imo).
Just don't think he needed to go there. And now that he's backpedaling like a muther, I've got even less respect for him. I mean, if he said, "Yeah, I said that. I know what he's meant to the game, I'm in awe of all that he's accomplished. But it's clear as day what is going on." - I would at least respect him for not being a pansy ass flip-flopper.
"My comments were taken out of context" is the oldest fallback in the history of excuses for publicly uttering something that one wishes had been left unsaid.
