Three times this happened yesterday 🙄🙄. I see a guy addressing the ball on a tee box with no tee markers. His friends are standing there with him, watching...

Three times this happened yesterday 🙄🙄.

I see a guy addressing the ball on a tee box with no tee markers. His friends are standing there with him, watching them swing a bit they appeared to have played before. The guy hits the ball, like crap, and one of his friends starts to walk up to tee off. I said, “hold on a minute… what tees are you guys playing from?” The guy who just tees off said “well the reds are way up there” ( which had NOTHING to do which the question). I said,” if you’re playing the whites, they are back there ( I point to the next tee box).” The guy says,” well what’s this”…. I said,” it’s a tee box with no tee markers, …. We’re not using this tee box right now, we’re trying to grow grass. Like a lot of course we have multiple tee boxes but some don’t have tee markers because we’re not using them. Go back and tee up from the makers please”
Couple hours later this guy and his wife are standing in the same spot. I said to him “are going to hit from there?”. He said “yes, we play the red tees “. He points out a red lateral water hazard stake in the woods 5 yards beside the tee box with no tees on it🙄🙄.
I happen to see ANOTHER group teeing off from the front of the tee box with no markers. BUT they went and moved the white tees from the other tee box to where they felt like teeing off from…. You guys can imagine what I said to them🤬.

Watch this movie trailer. I saw the movie and it gave me chills over how freakin close it is to being our place. I sat there and was able to put a name from our course to almost everyone in the movie. Right down to the golf school in the movie and our place. The girl who hates golf and throws a glass at her husband when she finds out he’s working there is MY wife.

You've got some oddball golfers at your place. And I have to admire the restraint you show in dealing with these people. I assume it's a public course, I can't see that kind of behavior at a private or semi-private course.

I too work at a very busy, mid-upper end , public course and see most of what John posts and so much more. It's really quite astonishing .

We had 2 groups the other day on a jammed tee sheet ( 300 golfers) stop and sit down and order food after 9holes. Sat there for an hour + then wondered why we wouldn't/couldn't let them just jump back in on 10. We said we will take you out to 15/16 where, there spot in the day. They complained to no end and I think ended up with a 9 hole rainchek.

Then there are the dumbasses who come off the street on a packed course and decide to take a walk with a baby stroller down the cartpaths .....there are never ending stories

The more I read this thread, the more I like my dog. Mediation has the same effect sometimes. Where people get these entitled expectations is beyond belief.

Weirfan OMG!!! Peter!!!! Your stories are the ones I leave out!! It’s funny to hear you back me up on the happenings and now I’m backing you up!!!

Our “turn” gets so messed up, if I go in looking for someone I just tell them not to do it again and have them bring their food out with them. They’re fine with that. I just let them sneak back into the flow on 10 by themselves. Everyone stops to get something and nobody cares if someone cuts… they are “ here for the day” hence the near 6 hour rounds.

We have a function Hall and people walk out onto Course during their wedding for pictures!!!

I had a woman not too long ago start walking up the first fairway with a beer and a baby stroller while people we’re teeing off. I drove up to her to ask what she was doing. She told me her husband is out playing and asked her to bring him out a beer. I had her walk back in and I took the beer out to her husband. I told him not to do it again and asked what he was thinking, if anything.

I also drank half the beer and told him it spilled out on the ride in cart to get to him

Typhoon my little course has no beverage cart. That said, there are select few people who can call in and staff will run a few drinks out to them. That said, there is an unwritten rule that the person requesting drinks buys one for delivery...

Well that goes without saying. I actually drive out to where the leagues are playing to grab a beer from them. And maybe use their clubs and play a hole or 3 with them.
