Weirfan I see your point. I can screw up a chip either way 😂. I tend to find when I am really struggling with chipping, getting back to the basics of ball back, weight forward, putter stroke, the ball is going to at least be close. Flight it up or down, short or long by the loft of the club. I usually struggle with the stuff just off the green, where I have it in my head “I can make this”, all hell breaks loose. Back me up 10 ft and I’ll try to hit a shot to a spot and let it do its thing, much less mental pressure on that shot for me. The last round I played, I was so awful, I just took the putter to anything within 15 ft of the green. It worked… sorta, kinda-ish, at least it eliminated the major screw ups.
