Just a Winn rant of sorts

I absolutely hate Winn wraps. Yes, they are very comfortable if that's your thing, but they are overpriced garbage, IMO. They wear out prematurely and you better use a shit ton of solvent trying to install these. One of my work associates was showing me his new Ping 400 series something irons last fall that he had just purchased that had Winn wraps installed and he kept talking about the Winn wraps and how nice they were. I told him they sucked and why. Hey, I'm not going to lie.

I have used the Winn Excel Jumbos for years and they wear very well. Perhaps because the Jumbo has more material. Some people are just tougher on grips than others. Regarding the installation the lower neck band on the Winns is a bit stiff so hit it with a heat gun just before installing and that will loosen it up. Then it will go on just like any other grip. They are a piece of cake to blow on with compressed air. For solvent installations I use mineral spirits. Put a tee in the vent hole and pour some mineral spirits inside the grip. Put you thumb over the top and shake it well to make sure the entire interior gets wet then pour out the excess and slide the grip on.

I use nothing but Winn grips, not Jumbo but standard. They wear very well for me and as far as putting them on that is the exact way we do it and they go on like a hot knife thru butter. Forgot to add we use solvent and there is never a problem

Dri tacos are ok but the wraps are awful. And with that rubber under listing… forget it. I got them once when they first came out. NEVER again

It holds the grip securely to the shaft. You just have to use plenty of solvent to put them on. My current Winn favs are the Dritac Jumbo LT (Limited Taper). I have used the Dritacs for years and I don't think I have ever had one wear out.

Rickochet The dritacs are ok. This is about those god awful wraps. If I went to a store and saw those things being closed out for $.99 each (and they should be) I would grap some for you guys, but for myself.....no.

A lot of grip wear comes from inside the bag; taking out/putting in. They aren't dicks.

I like the feel and playability of the Winn wraps, but they fall apart in the hand in 2 - 3 seasons, and I don’t play or practice more than 15 - 20 times per year, and often much less.

Normal year of playing for me used to be 60 - 70 rounds per year. I get even better grip wear now that my play is down to zero rounds per year.

100%. Just about the only grip I buy at the local PGA store. I have put many of the Jumbo Winn putter grips on several putters. They are usually half the price of Superstoke grips as well.

I’ve gotten so used to GP Tour Wraps that I just can’t like other grips as well. The TWs have just the right density and tackiness for me. Winns, I don’t like the squish. If I use them, I find myself re-squeezing the grip in the transition. I think it’s because I use a pretty soft hold on the club. A soft hold on a soft grip does not give a secure feeling. That’s probably also why I like some tack.

First Winn grip I tried on my driver it started falling apart on the first range session. Haven't owned one since. They may feel good, but don't last very long.

Here's a tip for making Winn installs easy (if you don't use compressed air-which makes it stupid ez). Put an extra piece of masking tape over the butt of the shaft, extending about 1" down the shaft. Place the tape over the butthole (see what I did there?) and then down the shaft. It keeps that underlisting from hanging up on the butt edge. Use plenty of solvent.
