Par4QC It will all show when Zack makes his Sunday lineup. It will either show brilliance, or idiocy on his part.

Everybody plays Sunday, so nowhere to hide the stiffs.
If they don't have a big lead by then, they will lose, imo.
Then maybe, once and for all, the old boys club will be broken up.

Spuzz the old boys club will be broken up.

Won't happen on our watch. Tiger was a 'pick' remember, and would have been today also had he been able to walk.

If I were Keegan, and played my ass off the next 2 seasons and made #1 on the RC list in '25.....I'd tell them go straight to hell! Not playing, for love/money, nor country.

Par4QC Europe always treats this as a war, btw.

Because their egos were bruised and battered from losing over the years and then..... shoe on the other foot.

By the way. It was started and a good-will exhibition and still is....except for the egos and TV ratings. 🙄

      Eguller except for the egos

I haven't looked at the European list, but doubt they got any type egos on it this time. Not even sure they have recognizable names.🤔
U.S. is all about egos though.**

Well except for Zack. He apparently has none, along with 'sense'.

**Esp. JT thinking he SHOULD be on the team!! I kinda feel sorry for that lil boy.

        Par4QC here's top 4 qualified and 2 possibilities...
        Rory McIlroy (Q–EP) – 404.8
        Jon Rahm (Q-EP) – 395.35
        Viktor Hovland (Q) – 356.97
        Tyrrell Hatton (Q) – 205.57
        Tommy Fleetwood – 186.92
        Matt Fitzpatrick – 183.1

I can think of a several guys I would have taken over JT. Off the top of my head:
          Glover
          Finau
Dechambeau (wrong tour or not, he is on fire right now and shot a 58 within the past two weeks)
          Bradley
          Typhoon, maybe? 😁

I suspect we will get our butts handed to us. For some reason Rory seems to not get the disease he sometimes gets at the majors. Hovland is absolutely on fire.

rsvman2 get Typhoon a proper set of clubs (iow, let him fit himself) and let him go to town. He probably would give JT (maybe a few more) a good run for his money!!

I don't understand any of the last 4 on that list being picked ahead of Bryson, Keegan, Glover or Finau...They better be up by a lot of points come Sunday and the singles competition...I can see an "0fer" or, at most only 3 points in singles, if not careful with pairings

              raggmann54 Finau

Then there was that guy. And, not picking him, or even considering him was correct. #21 in the standings and that means he's been crap for 2 whole seasons.

Using an old horse racing analogy, you never want to pick or bet on 'out-of-form' horses. In fact, most trainers will just put them out to pasture for a shortish vacation to 'freshen up'; you just don't keep racing them for nothing. OTOH, 'in form' is what you want to see in the program!! They are the ones you can bank on, for the most part.

Glover should have been picked for no other reason than his age, along with current form, and the fact he's never come close to making the team. TW was a prior pick and he was lame as hell and had a horrible RC record, but was picked partly because of age, among other reasons.
And, imo, it goes without saying that Bradley is 'in form'! Unlike 4 of the picks. Who the hell knows which Jordan is going to be on that flight??? Dr. or Mr.?

Weak field Tony was an easy omission.

                  Spuzz Weak field Tony

I agree he hasn't played well enough to be considered for the R/C this year.
But he did win the 2021 Northern Trust (first leg of the FedEx Cup),
and that was probably one of the strongest fields of the year.

Europeans have the stronger team. It's obvious that players who qualified on points have a bigger say than people realize. It's more about chemistry and past Ryder Cup performance than current form.

As I mentioned before the same goes with the assistant coaches as well. They seem to like familiarity. Probably one of the biggest snubs ever was never picking Hall of Famer Larry Nelson as a Captain. 9-3-1 as a player.

So it's more of a good old boy network type of thing.

                    The 'clique'.

They all talk about 'representing our country' when it comes to these get togethers. No money(🤣), just pride.
                    F'N bullshit!!

If it's about representing our country, why were the ones picked just from those playing for/on the PGA Tour? And we can all agree, those 6 'picks' are not the best of our country's players.

"This kid can't shoot a gun very straight, and sometimes has trouble knowing where to shoot, or when to pull the pin, but damn, he is great in the barracks with the other fellas......let's send him to war!" The PGA Army!!

The points system has to go. Or at least make it an automatic 12, no 'picks', for the favoritisms. That is playgound bullying!!

Most of Johnson's picks are reasonable and explainable, particularly when looking at form and playing ability, but (as I see it) it is hard to justify Thomas being selected over some of the other possibilities. Yes, he has a good record in the event, and may be great in the team room, but would the team benefit more from one of the others in contention, who are all playing better golf right now? In my opinion, Bradley would have been a better fit, particularly as he could potentially fit into the Reed/Poulter role - the guy that the other side really don't like, but will find a way to pull off the shot that counts when it means the most.
