customgolfcenter JB's shaft puller is great, I've used it in my shop for 10+ years and it has never failed me. Keep an eye out for a used one of these:
That looks like mine. Mine has the pre-load spring also which I like. And, no the handle is not too close to the head. That might be an illusion from the pic. I was going to build one and someone who was retiring offered me their JB at a bargain price. I picked up a 6 ton hydraulic jack from Tractor Supply for $12. Take a jack, a $4 shaft clamp and this pic to a welding shop and they can prolly make you one dirt cheap.
