scotts33 I know this is conventional wisdom, but I disagree. The more tension in the hand, the less it’s going to move. Now, when a grip is too large in the top hand, I agree, it can make it hard to fully rotate. I have had many terrible golfers (slicers of everything) try the no taper grip and most come back wanting the whole set done. It’s a far more natural feeling and lets them play like an athlete rather than engaging more forearms to grip the tiny taper. Of course as you said, different strokes for different folks.
The way I look at it, if golf shafts hadn’t been tapered to start, there wouldn’t have been a taper when they were wrapped. That’s the only reason we think there should be one.
