Blows me away (a bit) that the women's US Open has never been held at Pebble before.

azgreg I watched some of her interview. She seemed happy and in a good place, but shifting her focus away from competitive golf and helping others. I don't think she will be a factor, but who knows.

There should be a lot of 5 wood thru hybrids hit into greens especially if the wind is howling.

backinit When it's calm, the course can be had. Its main defenses are small greens with tricky breaks and thick greenside rough.

But when the wind is blowing hard, it's a monster.

ode Huge out. I had to leave the TV as the temp finally dropped into the 80s but this group isn't doing as well as I thought they would. It's awesome that an amateur is high on the leaderboard. A lot of golf left to go.

She played provisional from right hand bunker and chopped it up from there for a 7 I think.

Come to think of it the coverage was a lot like the PGA only showing certain players....every once in a while they'd show that big gal from England, Hewison🤔

Spuzz Right, had they looked at the ball flight, they would spend the time looking behind the bushes. Now if I played and paid $500+ green fee, that ball better had jumped out onto the green.

I was just checking the whole leaderboard on The Golf Channel website. There are only about 40 American girls
who even qualified for our Open!! And of those 40, only two.....Alison Corpuz and Bailey Tardy.....are in the top 20...!!!
WTH is wrong with the American girls???? I realize it's only the second round, but .......?????

I do know that after Se Ri Pak came on the scene in the late 90’s that South Korea really invested in women’s golf big time.
I worked with a woman from South Korea and Se Ri Pac was huge. She even started playing golf in her 40’s because of Pak.

Pak’s success (25 wins / 5 majors) has paid off for women’s golf in South Korea. That evidence is clear.
So, my guess is we just haven’t invested in women’s golf certainly as much as other countries, i.e. South Korea.
