Played a round without a glove

Dropped my daughters off at a concert yesterday, had enough sunlight for a quick round. Threw a 1/2 set of clubs into my bag and off I went. Forgot a glove, so I had to try gloveless for the first time in decades. Hit a couple dozen range balls...no problem.

My gloveless round stats....
Fairways hit.....1 (average 11)
Greens hit....1 (average 10)

I won't be doing that again.

I would bet I'd have the same results. Whenever I've tried to go without a glove, it hasn't been pretty. Even
that Sh_nk word golfers aren't supposed to say out loud....I have no idea why!

I almost never wear a glove. I have 2 in my bag, I just never remember they are there until after the round.

Unless it's so warm that my hands get sweaty, I don't feel any need for a glove.

I only wear one when high humidity forces me. This summer I’m trying to see if I can get by with wiping my grips and hands often. So far so good but the worst is yet to come. If I lived in moderate weather, no glove, ever.

This is me exactly. I can never get through the hot summer rounds without using one on the back nine, though. So far I've been OK but as you said the worst is ahead.

I wear one because all the rings I wear hurt my other fingers.

I stopped wearing a glove about 15 years ago after doing the math on how much money I was spending in a season just for gloves.

potbunker How many gloves were you going through? My hands disnt sweat much so I could go a few years with the same glove. I would get 2 worn spots from the club moving, which was good to see because it was a flaw to correct. Eventually after a few years there would be a hole.

I’m so used to a glove on my left hand after 40 years can’t play worth shit without one. I bought some rain gloves too. Couldn’t play worth a shit with one on my right hand. I’m never going to change. Lesson learned. I’m super sensitive to even minor changes. I have fairly large hands being 6’2. I put a couple extra wraps on my cp2’s that’s it. Even midsize non taper grips will mess me up. Don’t need a lot of help doing that. They feel great but makes me leave the ball out to the right

I played without a glove for about 50 years, give or take. Just started using them in the past 2-3 years. Not sure if they really do anything.
Forgot to bring one last time I played and I didn't really see any difference.

rsvman2 Without wearing rings I could go without one. I did it for a few years.

Typhoon I sweat and anything loose doesn't feel right, so I swap gloves each hole, and let them dry out. Maybe 5/6 gloves a round. Carry many in the bag. Let me know if you need some, lots of never worn., brand new sitting around.

I've played with and without. My hands don't get sweaty so it's not really a problem. I wear one now just because I'm used to it.

I go through about 3 gloves per season. When they become too dry and cracked they become "driving range
gloves" for a while. Then when they get rips or tears in them, I throw them away. I use these, so it's not like

Back when I actually wore a glove I tried those. I thought that they were very inconsistent. It seemed like one or two fingers were a different length from glove to glove. example: One glove the ring finger would fit well and the next it would be1/4" too long. I had one glove where two fingers were long and a third was short. I gave up on them. They seemed to be made of a heavier leather back then also, almost like a baseball hitting glove.

I've never given gloves a fair chance. Where I live is so humid most of the time, and me already being prone to excessive sweating can't stand to have a glove on in those conditions. I went the cord grip route, but have tried a glove every few years. I just can't make myself fight through the comfort issue long enough to see if I would benefit from it.

Never wear a glove. Hands used to be so rough I could sand wood without sandpaper. A byproduct of the work I did.
I use either Lamkin CL or GP TV (the new type) grips, so no need for a glove with them, as my hands start to become less rough.

I'll wear both rain gloves when it's really hot & humid out. It takes me a while to get sweating, but once it starts I'm drenched.
