I've owned a few jspec sets, Miura blades, Srixonzr 600, TS z101, as well as a set of fourteen, Vega and some TM endo forged heads.

The aesthetics of the Jspec equipment is off the charts, absolutely beautiful. I suppose spec wise they we better than some sets but still not perfect. It's beautiful stuff, but you pay. A cheaper head like say KZG might offer a 1/2 way point between the run of the mill stuff we see every day and the bling of jspec. I've enjoyed my many sets of KZG.

Finer finishes, past that, nope. You are talking a Lexus vs a Toyota in my book. I would rather have the Lexus, but the same thing lies beneath and I know it, so screw paying for it.

Each of us has our own definition of "better". Does selection of material and mfg tolerance make a club better or just more expensive? I am one cheap bastard, so if a club looks good and fits my game, it is better than one that doesn't. I am sure that some JDM clubs fit into both catgeories. Personally, I'd like to buy all American, but alas...........

Tour equipment is essentially the same as JDM in quality, as far as specs since they are custom fit for the tour player it is an apples to oranges comparison.
Also keep in mind JDM will most likely have higher core limits in the drivers and fairway woods.

As has been noted, there's nothing as pretty as JDM. It's just so aesthetically pleasing. Still, there has to be something to the shafts in that equipment. My Fourteen hybrid for example has extensive writing all over the shaft and I couldn't even tell you what shaft it is, but it's as sweet and as smooth as anything I've ever struck a ball with even that scandium stuff that was popularized for a faint second by e21. I would like to see those shafts in OEM stuff over here. Maybe, that shaft I think is JDM is really and OEM in disguise and it's all placebo but whatever the case it works for me.

There is more to JDM than appearance. I have never owned any JDM or Tour Issue equipment (with my game why spend the extra dough), but I have friends in the golf industry that do. I couldn't tell you exactly what but there is more to it than finish. I am certain of that.

Me thinks you've been hornswaggled. Most guys I know "in the business" don't actually know much of doodily squat about equipment, but they sure like to put on like they do. You only have to let them open their mouth to know.
