rsvman2 I know it, but I'm pretty casual about where I drop. I'm sure if a rule official were present for most of my drops they would say I didn't do a proper job identifying the point where it entered, or in relation to a line to the hole. I just go to the spot where I saw the ball enter the woods or weeds and drop next to, but far enough away to allow for a clear swing. Not exactly by the book, but I'm not going to take the time to work out the details and move away from the hole if the rule dictates that.
If I know the ball is lost immediately after I hit it, I'll drop another and hit from the original spot, but if I don't I do as described above.
