Did any of you see , the tribute to Glenn Frey at the Grammys last week?

It was one of lamest things I have ever seen. About 10 seconds of an interview that was virtually unintelligible and then go to the make-shift Eagles line up, sans Randy Misner and Don Felder and add Jackson Brown, singing lead on "Take it Easy" which he co-wrote with Frey and Henley.

Realize, Frey was the driving force of the Eagles and is responsible for the second biggest selling album of all time, the 29X platinum "Eagles Greatest hits '71-'75."

I guess since Frey was just an old guy and not hip like Beyonce, Kanye, or Taylor Swift, he wasn't important enough.

That is my favorite Eagles album. Glad I didn't watch the Grammys, but I haven't in a very long while.

There's a reason why the old bands still sell out on tour.
I feel bad for the kids today and the "music" they choose to listen to.

Ironically, I hear a lot of them say us old guys are living "in the dark ages" and have closed minds, yet they refuse to open their own minds and listen.
Thankfully, my son listens to all kind of stuff (AC/DC for one) and laughed at a radio DJ for saying that Rush was over-rated.

Haven't watched an awards show in years (Oscars, Junos, Grammy or even the NHL )
Too political and voted on by people who use crayons to put an X in the box.

My kids are in their 30s and 40s and are huge fans of 70's era rock music. My oldest daughter never adopted any other genre. I was disappointed in the Eagles tribute.......they are one of my favorite bands.

They sounded like a low end bar band, THEY should be disappointed in the effort. I thought it was crap all the way around.

By the way, I was never a Rush fan, but saw them in concert last year and they are far and away one of the best shows I have ever seen. Their radio play list is pretty over played and I can see how the younger guys think, overrated. The talent is undeniable in person, they are like magicians.

Both my kids love the Eagles and at 14 and 16 rock output to 70's, 80's and in my son's case 50's and 60's Jazz as well. DMy 16 year old daughter is very much into today's music and attends a k lot of concerts lcxbzut she still likes Pink Floyd, David Bowie, John Mayer , and most country.mhson he's got es got close to 500 kalbums on his PC and unless it's a re issue jot many from modern artists, maybe Adele and a few lot of concerts
