The PGA Championship Contest
DC300 having his name on the PGA Championship has to burn the PGA sooooo bad. The whole “washed up players” nonsense has to be thrown out the window now with another good showing from the LIV crew at the top of the board and the win. The majors are going to have to find a way to include these guys, it’s a joke if they don’t.
Agree, think how much better the Masters was with Koepka and Phil. Now the PGA with Koepka and Bryson. Hell, Koepka could be two for two in majors this year. How can you keep him out? It's ridiculous.
Par4QC PGA raised the purse by $3M Sat. morning
Partly thanks to those $17 per pint beers?
Par4QC very much a common type pricing at all events
I'm not that thirsty.
Higher price = greater margins and possibly fewer drunks.
Win...win !
My usual driving range is at Arroyo Trabuco, Michael Block's course, so I headed over there at lunch today. It was still one big party going on.
Love that course, but I haven't played there in 12 years. It was reasonable for 5 years after they opened, but the price has soared. This is not going to help that.
DC300 I don’t know if the opens will or not, they can tweak language to screw them.
The 1 main thing these people kept harping on about was 'traditions' when blasting the guys that went to LIV.
Will they also screw with 'traditions', and become the same types they have scorned???
Pot/Kettle....Kettle/Pot???
World Championships/Open Championships are supposed to include the best players in the world. Don't even have to be a Pro. And entry used to be just on an individual's own thought of his game, not some ranking!!
email me name and address guys... info@smtgolf.com
Thanks

The issue is that LIV golfers are not getting world ranking points because the system is based on 72 hole tournaments. Until they change that to also accept 54 hole (thanks Luc_Van_Daele for fixing my math) events, they are going to continue to drop in rankings as only a few tournaments per year count (Masters, PGA, Open...).
There’s been some talk after Brooks won the PGA Championship if LIV players will be on the Ryder Cup Team. The PGA of America runs the Ryder Cup on the U.S. side and the DP World Tour does on the Europe side.
Zack Johnson has said there’s been no discussion either way. If they went by standings it may depend on how he does in the U.S. Open and The Open.
Also, since the DP Tour runs the European Ryder Cup the European LIV players won’t be on the team.
Sneakylong the DP Tour runs the European Ryder Cup the European LIV players won’t be on the team.
Most have quit/resigned membership anyway, so no matter how good they may ever be, they can never play on the team. Same with some PGA members.
Sergio just had to qualify for the U.S. Open(and did). This is the way it should be; you qualify, you get to play in any tournament that has qualifiers. It's the only road now for some. Fair to all, imo.
Like I stated above, if YOU think you are good enough, you try. Rankings be damned.
SVonhof 52 hole events
Roman numerals LIV = 54

I'm no fan of LIV, but Brooks Koepka just won the PGA Championship and since the PGA of America runs the Ryder Cup and he just won their tournament, then if he qualifies I don't see how he isn't on the team.
Right now Koepka is number 2 in U.S. Ryder Cup Rankings. The top 6 make it on points after The BMW Championship (August 20th). Then Zach Johnson will make six captains pick's.
So, he could make it on points depending how he does in both upcoming Open's or he could be a captain's pick. And it's possible that the players could have a say as well. We shall see.
