Best ball retriever I ever used

I got a chance to use this iGotcha retriever today. Where ya been all my life? The spring loaded ring that flips over is the best capture system I have seen.

CallMeAl I have one that I purchased about 10 years ago at a salvage store. It stores quite compactly. My only grip is that I wish it was about 3 feet longer when extended, but overall it works great.

My retriever finally broke after about 10 years, paid $10 for it at a golf show. Paid for itself many times over

You're taking issue with the user, not the tool. This is a very effective retriever in the hands of a responsible user. I've spent many evenings with my grandsons fishing for golf balls using this tool when nobody is on the hole behind our house.

Your issue is with the user, not the tool. This brand collapses easily and stores easily and is very effective at retrieving a golf ball. In the hands of a responsible user who knows how and when to appropriately use it without delaying play, it's great.

sdandrea1 Just like everything else in golf that revolves around slow play. There are people who will be oblivious, be it their 3 minute pre swing routine, not being ready, Aim Point putting routine and people who won't. Slow guys will always be slow.

$4.99 @ pias, 15 footer, I've not used. Bought it last year to carry on a tractor, at work. It's been riding in the back of the truck for 2 years.

I don't spend much time looking for a ball. But when it's sitting there down in the creek five feet below the bank, it's nice when someone offers me their retriever.

That pretty much describes our course. There is a creek that winds through it and you play either across it, beside it
or both on 8 of the 9 holes. A retriever is almost a necessity. If you pay attention and use it right retrievers don't really
hold up play much at all, about the same as lining up a ball for putting by using a line on the ball.

I have a retriever in the basement or garage somewhere; IIRC it works well. If I can't easily scoop the ball out with an iron then I just skip it. Usually someone else has a retriever and will snag it. I tend to lose more balls in the woods than the water. When I hit the trees I hit them hard and there's no telling where the ball will go.

I’ve had the Igotcha for several years and they work great. I only use it to retrieve my ball or a golf partners ball. I don’t ball hawk with it. Unless it’s a Srixon Soft Feel. Lol

One of my buddies has one as well and because of the lack of rain here several of the water hazards are very low to dried up.

On one hole we play he goes out and retrieves balls with it every time we play from the muck which normally is under water and not reachable. Gets quite a haul.

I think there was a long discussion on FGI about "water balls" and how long they could sit in water without damage. IIRC even the new two piece balls start to show some performance deterioration after 1 week immersed.

I don’t know long it takes to deteriorate sitting in the water. Like I say I don’t ball hawk unless it’s my ball. In those cases it only was under water a few minutes. Lol
