Help with a low spin and high spin ball off the driver

So I want to do a little experiment. I want to see what the effect of a high spin and low spin ball on my driver. So what would be a good choice for each? I don't care if it's urethane, surlyn, two piece, three piece, whatever. So which balls are very high spin and low spin off the driver?

garyt1957 I'd look at this to figure out your driver SS and go off their spin results. I believe their results are very good.

garyt1957 BTW the Kirkland Performance+ always comes off as one of the highest spin balls off driver in various driver SS so that would be one to test.

scotts33 Agree. That's what I played the 2nd half of last year, and the Kirkland ball does seem to spin more than others off the driver. I've found that to be a plus for me as I get more carry, but the same overall distance in normal conditions. I'm a short hitter with an average drive somewhere in the 225 yard range and the occasional one out to 250 or so.

Yep, the Kirkland is one I see named as high spin all the time. What about a really low spin ball?

garyt1957 Best guess would be something very soft, like Wilson Duo Soft, Cally SuperSoft, that kind of thing. Those are kind of polar opposite to Kirkland.

Dimple patterns matter too as far as the trajectory you'll get. A lot of the super soft ones are designed to get up in the air.

The low spin/ low flight ones I would recommend would be the Titleist AVX or a firmer 2 piece ionomer like the Taylormade Distance +. As noted above many of the softer 2 piece are high launch due to dimple pattern.

The Kirkland 3pc was very spinny IMO, but I haven't gotten to try the latest version. The original AVX was low spin. Great on full shots, but like chipping a superball around the greens. I didn't like either one so I never bought the newest models.
