I played a quick 9 this morning. There were 2 groups out in front of me; both 2 somes in carts and at least a hole ahead. I never waited to hit a shot. There was a 2 some with push carts behind me. They were always more than a hole behind me (always a totally open hole between us).
Given that, I played 2 balls all round which took me an hour and 33 min. I played irons only. If I mis hit one off the tee, I’d hit another. Some tees it was just 2 shots, some as many as 4. From there I’d play the two best and pick up the others.
This is a par 33 9 hole course originally designed for juniors which also has foot (soccer) golf and fling golf. [Not a fancy place!]
When I finished up on 9 the guy working called me over and scolded me for playing more than one ball. Especially hitting “more than one elevated shots into his greens.” (I rarely hit any greens and always repaired marks) Nothing too bad, but I certainly wasn’t expecting it.
My faux pas here or did someone pee in the guy’s Cheerios?
