Like the JIGGER in the wooden shaft era.... What do you think of a 21st century version... kinda' the same lines, look as the olden days, but in a more play...

Gotchya. No thanks for me. I can't think of any shots I could use it for that I can't already make with another club. Not much into "specialty" clubs taking up space in the bag.

It’s not only an old golf club, but an Inn / Pub next to Saint Andrews. The most famous 19th hole in golf. Looks like a cool place. Steve Ellington was going to take his son for his first pint at the Jigger. Lol

I think any new iteration of the Jigger would need a friendlier sole. Otherwise why not just use your 7 iron. But there maybe a market for nostalgic looking clubs.

It's not likely a club that I would add to my bag. Now if I played with a caddy then maybe because I would love to say "gimme the Jigger" or "hand me my Niblick" because that would just be cool.

That original is very cool looking. The new product would have to have a cool retro look for sure.
If PING can do it - well, why not ! I will say that most of my short shots require a delicate touch, so
that type of product may be for links style play. JMO. Good luck...

I have one of these that I put together a couple of years ago.

It doesn't see much bag time though, because I think it has too much loft (42*), so it doesn't roll out like I would want
it to. I like the wide sole though, and the more upright lie angle, so my recommendation would be less loft and a wide sole. The look of the one in your picture is awesome, BTW.....

Yep....one of those Glider models in the right loft and a little extra weight would make a helluva chipper, IMO....!!

I have the Cleveland Smart Sole and Sand Wedge in my bag, the first iteration…Like them both but the Smart Sole C isn’t a good chipping club for me at 42* loft… I use my Aeroburner 8 iron for chipping…I, for one, would like a Chipper type club head with a sole similar to the Cleveland Smart Sole….

I guess I’m missing what the difference is between this and a hybrid iron. I get that it’s an inch longer, which would make me think, less control, not more. Seems more like a late night infomercial type of thing than actually useful, but I’ve been wrong before, ask my wife.

SMT Yes, a chipper that can also be used from, I am guessing, 140 yards and in by the average golfer. Again, that longer range is an assumption.

My Dad used to hit his chippers from 150 in. He had a Cleveland Niblick that was 37* that went 150 (140 as he got older) and a 56* Diamond tour clone. It was crazy but he hit them dead straight.
