So, makeshift par 3..

At 10:48 he says that he hit the ball too high
At 10;52 he hits a really bad chip and says... :good thing I have this putter to save the SMT irons. hahahahaha

    DonM

He’s from my neck of the woods. His channel is called Let’s Play Thru. He shoots his videos at Carrollwood Country Club in Tampa I believe.

Played there once. Nice private club that you need to know someone to get you on.

He used to test clubs at the Edwin Watts on Dale Mabry in Tampa. But that’s closed now and he uses the newer PGA Store also on Dale Mabry.

hahaha at 16:36 he mentions that he is not thrilled with the stopping power.

at 16:38 he says... "That's probably why we missed a couple greens that he claims he hit the green... but it rolled off. Except, his own video shows that he was short on other attempts from the rough and fairway. Good to know that even though he has a Youtube page, he can still blame "stopping power" on missing 7 holes of greens.

SMT And he equates distance to forgiveness. The ball did not go high enough so it's not 'forgiving', migawd???
      😄Hell, hit the ball properly!

Sneakylong But on Hole #7 that was closed, he mentioned that "the city...." I have never seen a city worked get involved at a private club.

I enjoyed watching him play and I appreciate the review.

I didn’t watch the video. I assume he’s still at Carrollwood in Tampa, which is private. The reason I think he’s still there is a recent video was shot at The PGA Store in Tampa.

Edit: Found this. His name is Gabriel Aluisy.

“Well I’m from Tampa via Baltimore and Washington DC. My home course is Carrollwood Country Club.

I’ve been playing since I was 3 years old, which makes me feel pretty bad that I’m not much better than I am. 🤣

My handicap index just slipped up a bit, now it’s 5.1. I still have an elusive goal of getting to scratch someday, but I feel like I better do it soon or time may run out. In order for me to reach that goal I’m going to need to get my long irons dialed in and putt just a little better. I have my days with the flat stick, but I need more consistency.”

I watched most of the video. Pretty quickly I knew what his opinion was going to be. I take ALL of these videos with a grain of salt, but I like to hear what they think of the sound, turf interaction, etc. I don’t mind hearing if the come out a little lower or higher than they are used to and if an off center hit carries close to what was expected but I could care less what the tester shoots on a hole.

YouTubers are about creating content. I believe the majority of G'Buzzers don't put much belief in what YouTubers do or say. It's for entertainment's sake. 😄

            Always YMMV! LOL

Sneakylong playing since I was 3 years old,

That's hard to believe, he has a terrible swing. I've tried watching his videos but can't get past the first 2 minutes.

The top click guys/gals on YouTube are called influencer's for a reason. We, G'Buzzers are an intelligent group and YouTubers surely don't influence our purchasing decisions. ☺

I put no stock into what he says.....a.m. dew and the clown putts through 7 paces (I counted) of fwy. No, that's an easy up and down via a chip and then a putt. No dew it might be different......and he has one mishit after another I don't know how he could give an honest review!

ode he has one mishig after another

Because the damn irons are not forgiving. WTH...how can you not know that?

                😆

sdandrea1 if you go to WRX, he is seen as credible in the TS2 thread having reviewed the KE4 Max, TS1-IM, and many others with the aforementioned KSig (🤮); also Takomo, the ones from Giga Golf.....most of these are a comparison of the hollow body irons.....and the resulting suggestion that the SMT and KSig are the same/similar. This review would suggest that they are not as the top line, offset, and sole width appear different. Someone from WRX is sending him the Golfworks stuff to review.

pellmell That's hard to believe, he has a terrible swing. I've tried watching his videos but can't get past the first 2 minutes

I watch a lot of his videos (being he’s local). ‘Terrible swing’ is subjective. How it looks on video means nothing. He can play. Usually plays a draw. Like many good golfers he has his own swing that he can repeat.

Many of his videos are filmed at the Carrollwood course. He’ll play each hole and video all his shots. I like his club review videos. I normally wouldn’t watch this particular video because that type iron isn’t for me.

He gave the iron I play a good review. lol

pellmell To me, he looks like he lines up way right, and then pulls everything. I guess it works for him though, so more power to him.
