There are a few problems with his review, starting with the fact he had these built with shafts that he felt "were closest to" what SMT offers on their stock builds. As most anyone in this forum knows, playing with shafts that differ from your gamers in weight, bend profile, etc. can create problems. ANY component has a +/- 2° loft/lie variable. This includes DRIVERS from the major OEM's. As such, it isn't noteworthy.....He also complained that the topline and sole were thicker/wider than he preferred, which I would have to assume is another deviation from his normal gamers. I own these and the Tour Edge C722 irons and they are very similar in dimension. I also own the Dynacraft Prophet MB, which I believe are closer to the Kirkland and P790's, in dimension. When playing in softer conditions I'll pull out the SMT's or Tour Edge. When playing firmer courses, I use the Dynacrafts. The point is that his review is entirely subjective (as most are) and thus his "conclusions" (star review, if you will) have no tangible value... They're just his opinions based on his preferences and ball striking on that particular day. This is all just entertainment and should never be misconstrued as an apples to apples comparison of anything UNTIL we see the raw data conducted by robot testing. The human variable here is the fly in the ointment.
