Par4QC Life is full of options....
you're right, as a host you can:
A:
make it obvious that it is about you and having it 100% your way and this is more important than the people you celebrate with and sharing the experience with them and their company . Most people usually grow out of this kind of behavior by the time they have their 10th , or sometimes 16th birthday party, the rest who dont ............... well we aren't allowed to talk about such things in this subforum .... are Greedy Obstinant Psychopaths.
or
B:
make it obvious that it is about the experience being shared with/between you and your company, that their presence and good time is more important than the specific ceremonial aspects of the event.
Par4QC Tradition says the holder of the Green Jacket gets to choose.
Funny enough you bring "Tradition" into it.
Doesn't "Tradition" also say respect your elders, honor the fact that they paved the way for you?
Doesn't (Didn't) "Tradition' say that black people can't play at Augusta?
etc etc etc
Funny thing about tradition: if you're going to cite it as important, then you had best go all in 100% on it.
I guess at the end of the day it comes down to whether you want to be a selfish me-first egomaniac asshole, or if you want to be a welcoming, empathetic, inclusive and selfless good person who puts others first. I think we all know which category you are, and conversely which I am. Now please, tell me how I should go kill myself again to prove your point about what a good person you are.
