JoeHatesSnow I think a Spaten octoberfest while I grill some brats. Maybe a Point Snow Pilot. Then a sipper tonight, we'll see if I have any of my Milwaukee black friday BBAs left in the garage fridge.
backinit propman Probably bottled in bond and there is a single barrel as well. I have tried the BIB and that is good.
Supp I'm currently enjoying Jameson Irish aged in stout barrels. I got o bottle of it for Christmas. Excellent!
backinit Supp I'm on the fence with high alcohol content beers. Any time I get up into the mid to high 8.0s, I taste less of the beer and more of the alcohol I guess. There is something missing....to me.
ode Supp sounds good......I've had a few Brandy Barrel aged beers that turned out super with the two best being BBA Barleywine and the absolute best a Cognac BBA Belgian Quad......ohhhhh was that good.
Supp backinit I agree. I find that most high alcohol beers taste a little more "malty" than I like. This one was very good though.
Rickochet I am having a big mug of Mio lemonaid mix over ice. Will convert to something more manly like a Miller Lite when I gather at the 19th hole this afternoon and get my daily dose of BS. 🙃
backinit Supp It probably doesn't help as in the spring and summer I gravitate more towards pilsners...I like the crispness. I'll take a IPA or a pale don't get me wrong.
Supp backinit I usually tend towards the stouts and porters, however I do enjoy a cold lager or pilsener on a summer day. My wife is a bit of a "hop-head" so every once in a while I'll sample an IPA with a high IBU.
SVonhof Tried this recently and it is really nice. Then last weekend I tried Eagle Rare for the first time and it was fantastic and better than Green Spot (wife agreed as well).
