Patriots Super Bowl Champions
mcavoy That timeout was stupid and smacked of panic. Panic - not what the Patriots did!
At the end when the Beasley came close to intercepting Brady's pass to a falling down Bennett in the end zone with the ball on the goal line was anyone else other than me screaming " did u learn NOTHING 2 years ago when the Seahawks tried that!?"
I really had no interest in who won or lost. Pretty much stopped watching NFL some time ago. Yet since it was the Super Bowl I DVR'd it and started watching it later. When it got to half time and it was 21-3 Falcons I turned it off. After finding out the final score later that night I watched it the next day. Great second half. Patriots really took over it was a complete 180 from the first half. Great job by the coaches for the Pats and poor by the Falcon coaches. Not a lot of crazy chest thumping during the game. A great job by the refs and pretty good sportsmanship by almost all the players. I enjoyed this game and it makes me think I might start watching some more next year.

Random thoughts. It's still surprising more teams don't play more man to man against the Patriots. It gives a team the best chance IMO. Doug Flutie thinks Brady can play another 5 years. Warren Moon played till he was 44. Brady turns 40 this August. The rest of the AFC East is getting better, but not good enough yet to challenge the Pats.
It's about time the Pats had a clutch crazy catch. I hear some in the media and even Beleichick down playing Brady's motivation from Deflategate. This is the same guy who still plays with a chip on his shoulder for being drafted so low. Dante Scarnecchia did a great job this season with the offensive line. I like their chances next year.
The other owners must be saying what do we have to do to stop this team. Docking multiple draft picks, fines and suspending their star QB for 4 games clearly wasn't enough. As Robert Kraft said. This one is the sweetest. For New England fans it sure as hell is.
Best come back/worst let down in SB history.....great game in the second half!
Brady's the man,no matter who he has to throw the ball to.
Falcons were plagued by a series of miscues (play calling and clock management) and bad bounces that second half. Two what should have been great defense plays by the Falcolns ended up turning into big plays for the Pats (Edleman catch and Bennett catching the deflection). That Edleman catch was more reminicent to the kearse catch in the seahawks/patriots game. Best catch of the game IMO was that julio jones sideline catch.
YafflDaffl Yeah, too bad the Falcons didn't capitalize on that spectacular catch.
rsvman stuff happens. Doesn't take away from the catch. Edleman showed great concentration to make the plan....and had a bit of luck the way the ball was batted and bounced. Horrible throw by Brady on that one.
YafflDaffl The Edelman catch was great concentration, effort, and maybe a smidge of good fortune. Julio Jones? Other worldly! That man makes catches like he's a ballerina (and he ain't no ballerina) 'Tap-Tap'...reception, first down. He's on my team any day before even Edelman.
Ah, MAN!!! You could have at least put "Spoiler" in the title. :-) :-)
Epic comeback and fun to watch. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Ryan as he watched his defense let the Pats back into the game. No dog in the fight for me, but SWMBO was jumping for joy.

Absolutely. Ryan could've taken a knee on the ensuing next two downs after Julio's catch, setting up a very makable field goal.
Hindsight is 20/20, as they say... Julio Jones is a beast. That catch, tippy-toes ballerina-style... not to mention Ryan's throw having to be spot-on perfect, to avoid the pass being deflected or intercepted? Remarkable throw into a very tight route near the sideline! Ryan played well enough to win that game imo.
And then to see how that was squandered over the next two plays?!
Gotta be hard to accept. Impossible to accept had it been anyone other than Brady getting the ball back and with enough time remaining to tie the game.
