I joined a PGA Tour pool at my club. The golfers are divided into five tiers which appear to be grouped by odds although the odds per se are not listed. Tier 1 is the best players, and so on. We pick 3 in the 1st, then 3, 2, 1, 1.
We are measured by the players money winnings that week.
So here is my first week's picks, for the Sony Open. I think I remember that this course is a ballstriker's course, not a bomber's? I tended to go with past winners and runners up, figuring at least they can make the cut.
Any given week, if you have anybody you like, tell me why. Including this week.
Your picks for the Sony Open are:
- Hideki Matsuyama (Tier 1)
- Russell Henley (Tier 1)
- Andrew Putnam (Tier 1)
- Denny McCarthy (Tier 2)
- Chris Kirk (Tier 2)
- Webb Simpson (Tier 2)
- Adam Schenk (Tier 3)
- Patton Kizzire (Tier 3)
- Danny Lee (Tier 4)
- Jimmy Walker (Tier 5)
I picked Schenk in honor of my avatar here. It's probably good that Hack and Yip are not playing.
