I have always liked Rocco. That US Open playoff Vs Tiger was one of the most epic sports events I have ever watched. Like two heavyweights trading punches.

Some real good observations. I like what he said about the wedge shafts.

azgreg interesting....only see it a available in x100, would like to see an S and R/300.....but at $50 per that's pretty steep! Not on TT site either.

I think by “mid” he just means mid trajectory. He talks about playing Rifle 7.0 mid in the past and there is nothing anywhere called that… but that shaft was a mid trajectory shaft.

Typhoon TT made a new variation of the DG, called the DG Mid.....appears to be only available in x100

Wedge shafts majority of rec. players don't get. The are playing the majority of the time lower spinning shots than rec. golfers play with good urethane. Go to a tour event and watch the height of their average shots they are much lower than most rec. golfers. That's the difference. They use stiffer tipped shafts with some give to use these variables. Watch and learn.

It's more about the technique than equipment again!

Rec. golfers think equipment is going to save them. I don't think so.

scotts33 I witnessed that first hand when I went to a practice round a Whistling many years ago. That was eye opening to me to see them hit wedges into the green and control the flight!

scotts33 I play a bunch with several former pros. They all hit their wedges a little higher than line drives that hit and stop.

He sure is!
I saw him one time in the parking lot at La Costa some 25 years ago,
and he looked easily 40lbs. heavier.
I liked what he said about the bounce on his wedges, make them all the same....makes sense.
He got a little happy with the skull stickers on his woods though!☠☠☠

Yup but I don’t have the demo matrix. Haven’t really started up for this year. Just have some stores to do during the winter amd we just just the fitting cart. The fitting cart doesn’t have all the shafts we have usually. I’ll check when I get my stuff but I don’t remember seeing anything other than a standard x100

sdandrea1 Yeah that surprised me. I am pretty sure if he asked the Ping tour rep, he'd get whatever he wants for free. Maybe he has a fitter or shop that he likes.

As a low spin player, I like what Rocco says. If you have spin, you can use it or reduce it. If you don't have it, you can't manufacture it. Not talking about driver.
