Old golf story I originally heard in Chicago some 40 years ago. Two fellows out playing. Both had a caddy. Par 3 downhill, over a small river. Golfer A hits several in the water and is pissed. As they are walking on the bridge over the water and Golfer A says to his caddy let me have that bag. He throws bag and all into the river and storms off the course. Caddy asks what should I do. Golfer B says well he threw it all away so it is yours if you want to go swimming and retrieve the clubs. Caddy does. Fellow says to the caddy they are yours. Will you sell them to me for $100. The caddy says yes.
Later Golfer B is at the bar. Golfer A comes in and apologies for his behavior. Golfer A says the story is all over the club. I suppose I deserve it. Here is the $100 you paid the caddy. Golfer B says the clubs are mine now. That will be $200.
