If you're a hitter in baseball and fail less than 70% of the time, you just might be a Hall of Famer. Hitting a fast moving baseball consistently is one of the hardest things to do in sports.
Now, if you could tee the baseball up like they do in little kids tee-ball everyone would be in the Hall of Fame. lol So why is golf a different animal? The golf ball is sitting on the ground and not moving.
IMO it's because of the ground interaction. Again, tee the ball up and you negate or eliminate the ground interaction. Controlling low point on the ground is why most people suck at golf.
This is why you're correct that everyone has their own swing. And every swing including the Pro's have faults. The difference between good golfers and bad golfers is the good golfer can mitigate their faults and arrive at impact correctly thus controlling their low point.
You see all kinds of crazy swings on the Pro Tours. But they all arrive at impact the same. There's more things that can go wrong with the swing of course which adds to the issue of consistency as well. But that's the toughest one.
Most everyone has good enough motor skills and hand eye coordination to do certain tasks like riding a bike etc.. Once the training wheels come of you're good for a lifetime. If riding a bike were like golf we'd be falling off the bike every other day. lol
Same with my sport basketball. Some days I could hit 15-20 free throws out of 20. But I would never miss the rim consistently. lol My disparity is narrow from a good day to a bad day.
I can do a sleight of hand card trick. I can hold a card in my hand and move my arm quickly back and forth and the card disappears from my hand. Because the hand is quicker than the eye you can't see how I perform the trick.
I could show you exactly how it's done. And with practice in front of a mirror you most likely could learn to do it and be very good at it. It's a teachable mechanical skill, with your hand and fingers.
But no one can teach you how to control your low point in golf. They can maybe guide you in feels etc., but most likely you'll never get proficient at it. If that were the case handicaps would be a lot lower than they are.
And if that were a teachable mechanical skill you wouldn't see tons of You Tube videos on the golf swing. lol
