Yup. I have watch my setup posture and then I have a tendency to yank the club inside quickly. Somehow I used to get away with it a bit more often, but apparently I have lost what little timing and hand/eye coordination I once had.

KCee That’s a good point too. Aging. And it’s hard to sense what it is doing to our coordination.

I’m playing tomorrow and will be using my emergency swing. Open stance and try to hit fades. I really should just go with that and see if it’s my best swing.

Bad swings make bad shots no matter what iron you're holding. I've made some pretty ugly contact with Eye 2s and every other iron I've ever owned. What I tend to do is remember all the great shots I've made with iron sets over the years and think "yeah, I should go back to those". I shot one of the best rounds of my life when I had a set of steel-shafted Taylor Made 320 irons back when they came out. "Yeah, I should try and find a set of those again". No............

How are you with hybrids Don? Go lol for a cheap hybrid iron set like Cleveland’s or Bazooka.

Don’t know what shaft you have on these ex-irons but pay attention to their weight compared to what you hit well.

DonM Don't worry the older heavier ones are just glad to have you. They will work way harder to please you then the newer, prettier models who know there's someone just salivating to get their hands on them should you let them go.

I believe I've found the swing (setup) issue with the irons. Time will tell.
