I love my 2012 Adams 3 hybrid. 19 degrees and something like 40 inches. It goes as far as my 5 wood but with more control, easier to hit on uneven lies too. And the damn thing flies pretty high for a hybrid.
I'd like to get 10 more yards out of some other club.
I have love/hate with my 3 woods. I tried a 4 wood and so for it hasn't clicked. I really like the shorter club length of the hybrid.
If there was a 17 degree version of this same hybrid, I'd be all over it. There isn't. And most 17 hybrids are for "players", so they are not going to be as forgiving and high launching, at least I don't think so.
What should I be looking at? For one thing I'm trying to figure out how to add a bunch of weight to a pancake style 4 wood. It's not easy to figure out where to put lead tape. Drill a hole and pour a bunch of lead or tungsten powder into the head?
Any SGI 17 degree hybrid?
